One of my favorite quotes is by Henry Ford "When everything seems to be going against you, remember that the airplane takes off against the wind, not with it." It reminds me that struggles make success that much sweeter and that we only get out of something what we put into it. Sometimes resistance is good and not futile!
A quote that I like about behavior is by Johann Wolfgang van Goethe. It says, "Behavior is a mirror in which everyone displays his own image". I like it because no matter what type of person we try to convince people that we are, our behavior shows our true selves.
my favorite behavior quote would have to be "Behavior is what a man does, not what he thinks, feels, or believes”. becuase you can not believe behavior nor can you think or feel it you can only do it so thats why i like this quote.
One of my favorite quotes is from a spoken word artist by the name of Black Ice. "We live in a world where young boys choose to follow figures who had no father figures." I feel like this quote/statment make reference to society today and how young men choose to behave.
A quote that seems to portray the differences in personalities is by Winston Churchill and he states : "a pessimist sees the difficulty in every opportunity. An optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty". This quote really stood out to me because I actually know people who always complain about difficulties and they see that as a reason to give up and stop trying. This may or may not be true, but I feel that most people in the world claim to be optimistic but in reality they are pessimistic. They don't see difficulty as a way to make them much stronger. Being able to overcome struggles, makes us better people overall.
A quote that tickles my fancy a little bit is by Mae West which says "The best way to behave is to misbehave." This quote caught my attention because I had first asked the question of why you would want to misbehave, and then I bega to read more into it and finally thought of an angle. In order to learn things in life and know your differences between right and wrong is to first misbehave and when you realize that it's not correct you learn and know how to behave. You see we learn form our mistakes and they say the wise learn form others mistakes either way you never know how to behave unless you misbehave or seee others misbehave.
A quote that I hold dear in my heart is by Anthony Brandt~"Other things may change us,but we start and end with family". This is so true and I often remind my children of this because sometimes when you have no one else there's that family member who steps in whether it's an extened member or not. This quote I hold dear to me because it has great value. I'm blessed that my 2 are close to one another and it's a 5 year gap inbetween them. I'm always telling them I love them and to see how they treat each other is such a blessing to me. It makes me feel proud to know that my teaching has not been in vain thus far.
Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened. (Dr. Suess)
I like this quote because I feel we should all learn to appreciate all our life's experiences, the good and bad. All experiences are lessons that teach us more about ourselves and those around us.The experiences we endure push us toward where we need to be by making us stronger and wiser.
Journey I have to say I adore your quote. I say this because if you don't endure all of the experiences that life has to offer then you will never truly live. I mean from the beginning life is all about trials and tribulations and if you don't live and learn from them then others in the future will not learn from them and in that case no one will live to enjoy life and all its glory and everything that it has to offer. Dr. Suess was so profound. Why did he have to leave us?
dthauser I agree with you because people are always trying to find an excuse to quit. Just think how this world would be if everyone never finished what they started.........a mess!
One of my favorite quotes is by Minister Louis Farrakhan "The greater the idea the greater the opposition." This quote helps me understand that no matter what you do people are going to find something wrong with it and we must treat it like a motivation to help prove the haters wrong.
Trinette I love that quote family are the people that when everything falls down they are there to pick you up they are the ones who know us and will take the time to remind us who we are.
Avion- I ove your interpretation of Mae West's quote was great! You need to learn from your mistakes and don't be afraid to take a chance just because your afraid to fail!
Journey...I love your quote!!! I can say that I am one of those people. I try not to let too much stress me out. If I fail at something, I learn from my mistakes and I am able to smile and say okay last time I failed because of this, but Im not gonna do the same thing I did last time. Kind of like 'cheating the system' =)
Daphne, I love that!!!! I use to be that pessimest that often looked at things as difficult. I realized that that kind of attitude and thinking really didn't get me very far. So I have adapted a new attitude! Those things that may seem a little difficult at first, I try to explore every opportunity available. Because of my new "'tude" I see myself soaring in ways I would never have imagined.
erika: hey i love that quote and i think it is so true. Thats part of the reason why young boys today get caught up because they make the decision to follow the wrong person... and i can say i think thats why my brothers made that mistake at because they dont have father figures and turned to the streets and men in the streets to be their role models. so i think that quote is SO TRUE!!!
My favorite qoute would have to be,"To dream anything that you want to dream. That's the beauty of the human mind. To do anything that you want to do. That is the strength of the human will. To trust yourself to test your limits. That is the courage to succeed." this qoute reminds me to always stay true to what I believe in and never to give up AND to also push yourself til you cant go nomore.=]
Journey- Dr. Seuss was a genius. i hope in years to9 come he is recognized as one of the great philosopher's like Aristotle, Plato, and the Marx Brothers.
My favorite behavior quote would be...“The true test of character is not how much we know how to do, but how we behave when we don't know what to do.” John W. Holt, Jr. It's just a real quote i mean when people dont know how to do something they may act out and never really realize what their doing or how they are going about the situation Courtney Carroll
Journey def. love the quote.....you never learn lessons unless you go through the situation then next time you will know what to do and what not to do and be able to say i been thru that and ive learned my lesson
One of my favorite quotes is "to the world you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world". I love this quote because it encourages that no matter how insignificant we feel we are, or insignificant we feel our impact on the world is, we're always affecting somebody and we have somebody that admires us in some way.
My favorite quote about personality is by Mahatma Gandhi. Which states {A man is but the product of his thoughts what He thinks, He becomes.) Reason being is because I feel people might want you to become this and that, or even think that your not going to be nothing. But it's what you think and not what they think that determines what you are going to become.
One of my favorite quotes that i love is a quote that my football coach says. "YOU ARE WHAT YOU DO", meaning that the actions that you choose to do in life represents the person that you are so if your doing something such as being lazy, complacent, or trying to get over. that is the type of person you are.

It reminds me that struggles make success that much sweeter and that we only get out of something what we put into it. Sometimes resistance is good and not futile!

I like Candi's quote...I agree that people can pretend to be something other than their true selves, but in time, all things will be revealed.
